Maruti Suzuki had launched the new Brezza compact SUV in June 2022. Priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 13.96 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Maruti Brezza is only available in a single petrol engine option. The homegrown automaker is now ready to introduce the CNG version of the compact SUV in the coming days.
The new Maruti Brezza CNG version has been spotted at a dealer stockyard, suggesting that the launch could take place very soon. We reported earlier that the Brezza will be 1st CNG SUV to come with automatic gearbox. All the variants of the existing petrol-powered Brezza will get factory-fitted CNG Kit.
The Brezza CNG will be made available in 7 variants – CNG LXI 5MT, CNG VXI 5MT/6AT, CNG ZXI 5MT/6AT and CNG ZXI 5MT/6T. The boot space has been compromised with the factory-fitted CNG kit, which is also evident from the spy video. The new Maruti Brezza CNG is likely to share the mechanics with the Ertiga CNG.
The Brezza CNG will be equipped with the 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid tech. It will be paired to a CNG kit. The powertrain produces 87bhp and 122Nm of torque, which is a significant drop from the regular Brezza’s petrol. The regular petrol motor makes 101bhp and 137Nm of torque. The Brezza CNG is expected to offer a mileage around 25-30km/kgs, as the Ertiga CNG is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 26.08km/kg. As a reference, the Brezza petrol returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.80kmpl with AT and 20.15kmpl with MT.
The new Maruti Brezza comes equipped with several advanced features, which are likely to be offered on the CNG version as well. In terms of features, the SUV gets a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, wireless charging, HUD, ambient lighting, connected car tech, an electric sunroof, a 360 degree parking camera, ESP, 6 airbags, hill hold assist and others.
