India’s Top 4 Mid-Size SUVs To Get Updates – Creta, Harrier

In the mid-size SUV segment, the competition gets hotter with the entry of the new Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Within the first month of its arrival, the Grand Vitara became India’s third top-selling mid-size SUV registering total sales of 8,052. The Hyundai Creta retained the top spot with sales of 11,880 units, followed by the Kia Seltos that recorded sales of 9,777.

In order to withstand the competition, Hyundai and Kia are ready to give a mid-life update to their SUVs in 2023. Tata Harrier and MG Hector will also witness minor updates in coming months. Here’re some key details of the India’s top 4 mid-size SUVs, which will soon receive facelifts.

MG Hector

2022 MG Hector facelift Teaser

MG Motor India will roll out the Hector facelift by the end of December, 2022. Upfront, the SUV will feature a newly-designed ‘Argyle-inspired’ diamond-mesh grille with chrome surrounds, updated bumper and headlamps and slightly revised rear section. Inside, the new 2023 MG Hector facelift will receive a new 14-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with the Next-gen i-Smart technology and wireless smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with new graphics and a new double-layered dashboard. Major upgrade will be the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) that’s already available on MG’s flagship SUV – Gloster. No changes will be made to its engine setup. More details here…

Tata Harrier

2023 Tata Harrier Facelift

The new Tata Harrier facelift is expected to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. It could be the first Tata car in India to get ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) that offers features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist, lane departure warning system, hill start aid, electronic stability control and more. This time around, the carmaker might also equip the SUV with a larger infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a 360 degree camera. Minimal changes are likely to be made on the exterior. The 2023 Tata Harrier facelift will source its power from the existing 2.0L diesel engine that’s good for 170bhp and 350Nm. More details here…

Hyundai Creta

2022 Hyundai Creta facelift India

Hyundai Creta facelift will make its India debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. The SUV’s new model will go on sale before the end of this fiscal year. A few noticeable design changes and feature upgrades will be made to the Creta. It will come with a new parametric grille, more rectangular headlamps positioned slightly lower on the bumper, redesigned boot lid and sharper taillamps. The 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will be offered with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite along with the updated Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Kia Seltos

New Kia Seltos facelift

The 2023 Kia Seltos has already been introduced in select global markets including the South Korea. Similar to the new Creta, the updated Selots could be offered with the ADAS in India. It might also be packed with an updated infotainment system, new connected car features, a fully digital instrument cluster, new seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and a 360 degree camera. On the exterior, the new Seltos gets a revised grille with bigger air dam, new headlamps with LED DRLs, updated bumpers, newly-designed fog lamps and completely revised taillamps.
