Mahindra’s newly-launched XUV700 SUV is reported to be sold out for the next 6 months. Its bookings were commenced on 7th October and surprisingly its first 25,000 units which were offered at the introductory launch prices got booked within 57 minutes. The automaker re-opened its bookings on 8th October and the second batch sold out within 2 hours. Now, the company has increased its prices by up to Rs 50,000. After the price hike, the Mahindra XUV700 is available in the price range of Rs 12.49 lakh – Rs 18.29 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
The new prices will be applicable for the new batch of the SUV. Deliveries of the XUV700 are likely to commence near around Diwali (4th November 2021). Its waiting period details are yet to be revealed. The new Mahindra SUV comes in two trims – MX and AX – and two seating layouts – 5 and 7-seats.
The Mahindra XUV700 can be had with either a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol or a 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel engine. The gasoline motor, which is the most powerful in the segment, offers a peak power of 200bhp and 380Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.
The diesel motor has been tuned for generating 155bhp with 360Nm and 185bhp with 420Nm. The former is offered on the entry-level MX trim with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The 185bhp version is reserved for the top-end AX variants with automatic gearbox and AWD system options. The oil burner delivers a peak torque of 450Nm with automatic transmission. Mahindra has equipped its new 5/7-seater SUV with lots of goodies including ADAS (first-in-segment), a Skyroof (biggest in segment), connected car technology with built-in Alexa, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, digital instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera, seven airbags, smart pop-out door handles and more.
