Nexon EV Hits 35K Sales Milestone, Tata Mocks Mahindra XUV400

Tata Motors is currently ruling the electric vehicle segment of the country. It currently holds close to 80 per cent of EVs market in the passenger vehicle category. In fact, Tata’s new Tiago EV has received an overwhelming response from buyers with 20,000 bookings in less than 1 month. Tata Motors is currently selling the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV, and deliveries for the Tiago EV will commence from January 2023.

Tata Motors has officially announced that its popular Nexon EV has crossed the 35,000 unit sales mark. Posting the achievement on its social media handles, Tata Motors has taken a dig at the upcoming Mahindra XUV400. Tata Motors posted a picture on social media which read 35,000 is greater than OO. The OO was written in the same font that Mahindra uses for the XUV400.

The Tata Nexon EV is available with two battery sizes – 30.2kWh and 40.5kWh – claimed to offer a certified range of 312km and 437km on a single charge respectively. Tata is offering two charging options with the electric SUV – the standard 3.3kWh and 7.2kWh AC fast charger. The latter one can be installed at home or at workplace. The Mahindra XUV400 is scheduled to be launched in our country in January 2023. It is reportedly to be offered in 3 variants – Base, EP and EL. It comes fitted with a 39.4kWh battery pack that powers a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The electric motor pushes out 150bhp and 310Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 8.3 seconds, which makes it the quickest in the segment. The SUV has an electronically limited top speed of 150kmph. Mahindra claims that the new XUV400 EV will have a certified range of 456km on a single charge.
