Mahindra XUV300 Diesel Recalled Over Faulty Intercooler Hose Issue

Mahindra & Mahindra has silently recalled diesel variants of its popular XUV3300 subcompact SUV in the country. The key reason for the recall is a defective intercooler hose that can cause cracks over time. The company will contact owners of the Mahindra XUV300 to inspect their vehicles and replace the defective component. The numbers of the affected units, however, are yet to be revealed. Just so you know, the home-grown automaker announced a recall for around 600 vehicles manufactured at its Nashik plant between June 21 and July 2, 2021. The reason behind the recall exercise was said to the premature wear of engine parts due to contaminated fuel. The production facility received contaminated diesel fuel, which was filled in 600 vehicles.

At present, the Mahindra XUV300 is available in the price range of Rs 7.95 lakh – Rs 13.46 lakh. Prices of its petrol variants start from Rs 7.95 lakh and go up to Rs 12.63 lakh. The diesel models have been priced between Rs 9.09 lakh – Rs 13.46 lakh. The SUV model lineup includes 8 automatic variants, which are priced from Rs 9.99 – Rs 13.46 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The compact SUV comes with the 1.5L diesel and 1.2L petrol engines, which are good enough for 115bhp and 300Nm and 109bhp and 200Nm respectively.

In other updates, the automaker will soon introduce the more powerful and sportier petrol version of the Mahindra XUV300. The new model will feature the new 1.2L T-GDI petrol engine pushing out a peak power of 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. It will make the XUV300 petrol the most powerful vehicle in its segment. The more powerful XUV300 could be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new engine is reported to be offered across all trims of the SUV including W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O).
