Mahindra eXUV300 Launch Timeline Revealed – Nexon EV Fighter

Mahindra & Mahindra has planned several new products for the Indian market. The Mahindra XUV700 5/7-seater SUV is the latest offering from the home-grown carmaker, which will be followed by the Bolero Neo Plus, Marazzo AMT, new-generation Scorpio, eKUV100 and eXUV300. The company aims to foray into the electric subcompact SUV segment with the Mahindra eXUV300 sometime in 2023. It will be positioned against India’s top-selling electric car – the Tata Nexon EV.

Speaking to Autocar India, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra Group, said that the XUV300 will be the first SUV to undergo electric transformation with the launch in 2023. After the arrival of the Mahindra eXUV300, the company will introduce a range of new models along with the newly-designed EVs. The new Mahindra electric cars are claimed to be packed with latest technology.

The Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will be the brand’s first production model to be designed on Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA). The carmaker will use the same platform for its future EVs. The eXUV300 is likely to be offered with 350V and 380V powertrains and two battery pack options. While the more affordable battery pack is reported to take on the Tata Nexon EV, the longer-range version will compete against the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.

If reports are to be believed, the Mahindra eXUV300 standard and long-range variants will offer range of around 200km and 375km respectively.  Rumour has it that there might also be a third battery pack option with even longer range to highlight potential of Mahindra EV. Design of the Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will be slightly different from the standard model. Similar to the concept, the production-ready version will carry a closed-off front grille along with the newly-designed headlamps and alloy wheels. The Blue highlights will further distinguish it from its ICE sibling.
