Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury carmaker has finally launched the highly-rated CLA sedan in the country. The vehicle is offered in three variants- CLA 200 CDI Style, CLA 200 CDI Sport and CLA 200 Sport. This entry-level sedan is priced at Rs. 31.5 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA is available in two engine options- 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel. The petrol engine is capable of producing a top power output of 181bhp at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm between 1,200-1,400rpm. The CLA 200 accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 7.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 235kmph. The fuel efficiency of the petrol model is rated at 15.04kmpl, which is decent. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The oil burner is the 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel unit that makes 134bhp of power between 3,600-4,400rpm and 300Nm of peak torque between 1,600-3,000rpm. This engine is clubbed to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that drives the power to front wheels. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in 9.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 220kmph. This model is claimed to return a decent mileage of 17.9kmpl.
