Kia Motors has revealed prices of the top-end Sonet GTX+ 1.0L petrol DCT and GTX+ 1.5L diesel automatic variants. While the former comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the latter one has a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both models have been made available at Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The 1.0L GTX+ petrol iMT and 1.5L diesel manual variants are available at Rs 11.99 lakh.
Prices of the Kia Sonet start from Rs 6.71 lakh, thus making it the most affordable SUV in its category. Though, it’s top-end GTX+ trims are the most expensive in the subcompact SUV space. The new compact SUV from Kia comes in two trims – Tech Line (THE, HTK, HTK+ and HTX) and GT Line (GTX+) and 11 colour schemes.
The Sonet is the only car in its segment to offer diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The model comes equipped with several segment-first features including a massive 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with navigation and live traffic, Bose premium seven-speaker sound system with sub-woofer, Smart Pure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection and front ventilated driver and passenger seats. Features such as LED sound mood lights, 4.2 inch colour instrument cluster, Over-the-air (OTA) map updates, remote engine start via UVO Connect and Smart Key (automatic and manual transmission), wireless smartphone charger with cooling function, multi-drive & traction modes for automatic models are also on offer.
The fully-loaded GT-Line trim carries some distinctive design bits and features including red accents all around, an electric sunroof, leatherette wrapped D-cut steering wheel with GT-Line logo, leatherette wrapped door trims, sporty alloy pedals, premium roof lining and contrast red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and door armrest. The South Korean carmaker is planning to export the Sonet to over 70 markets including Latin America, Asia, Middle-East and Africa. The carmaker’s Anantapur based plant in Andhra Pradesh serve as production hub for the new compact SUV.
