Kia Sonet Variant-Wise Features Explained

The all-new Kia Sonet has finally been launched in our market at an introductory price of Rs 6.71 lakh for base model and Rs 11.99 lakh for the top-end variant. The new Sonet has been receiving an excellent response from buyers as the pre-bookings have crossed 25,000 mark. The company claims to have received 1,000 bookings of the Sonet per day.

The Kia Sonet is available in two body lines – HT Line and GT Line. The new SUV is available in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol with 5MT, a 1.0L turbocharged petrol with iMT and DCT and a 1.5-litre diesel with 6MT and 6AT. The NA engine produces 82bhp and 115Nm of torque, while the turbo unit is good for 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 99bhp/240Nm with manual gearbox and 113bhp/250Nm with 6AT.

The new Kia Sonet is offered in 11 exterior colour options (8 Monotone and 3 Dual-Tone) – Gravity Grey, Beige Gold, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Intelligency Blue, Steel Silver, Clear White, Glacier White Pearl, Intense Red with Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl, and Beige Gold with Aurora Black Pearl. Kia Sonet HTE

This trim is available with 1.2L petrol MT and 1.5L diesel MT versions. While the former is available at a price tag of Rs 6.71 lakh, the diesel model is tagged at Rs 8.05 lakh. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert, seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX are offered as standard safety features.

In terms of features, the HTE trim gets halogen headlamps, 15-inch steel wheels, tilt-adjustable steering, front door power windows, front and rear USB charging port, electrically adjustable ORVM, rear air-con vents, front adjustable headrests, 3.5-inch mono-tone MID, etc.

Kia Sonet HTK

This trim shares the engine options with the HTE version. The manual petrol version is tagged at Rs 7.59 lakh, while the diesel manual cost Rs 8.99 lakh. This model has all the features that are accessible in the entry-level variant. Adding to it, the compact SUV gets 16-inch silver styled wheels, height adjustable driver seat, keyless entry, rear power windows, follow me home headlamps, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls, and four speakers and UVO Lite connectivity.

Kia Sonet HTK Plus

This trim is available in 5 variants – 1.2L MT (8.45 lakh), 1.0L iMT (9.49 lakh), 1.0L DCT (10.49 lakh), 1.5L MT (9.49 lakh) and 1.5L AT (10.39 lakh). This trim has high-end features such as projector fog lamps, automatic headlamps, roof rails, climate control, powered ORVMs, rear defogger, rear parcel tray, rear camera, and multi-drive modes and traction control in DCT. This trim also offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The DCT trim also gets ESC, HAC, VSM and brake assist.

Kia Sonet HTX

This trim is available in two variants – 1.0L iMT priced at Rs 9.99 lakh and 1.5L MT priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. In terms of features, the Sonet HTX gets LED headlamps and DRLs, LED tail-lamps, electric sunroof, chrome door handles, dual-tone interior, smart-key with push-button start, cruise control, remote engine start, electrically foldable ORVMs, and rear seat adjustable head-rests.

This trim is also available in two variants – 1.0 iMT and 1.5 MT priced at Rs 11.65 lakh. This variant has all the features available in the HTX variant. Adding to it, the Sonet HTX+ gets TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), 16-inch diamond cut alloys, LED sound mood lighting, rear wiper and washer, 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connected car technology, 7-speaker Bose-sound system, ventilated front seats, air purifier with virus protection, 4.2-inch coloured MID, auto-dimming IRVM, Smartwatch connectivity, etc.

This is the range-topping variant, which is available in two variants – 1.0L iMT and 1.5L MT – priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh respectively. In terms of features, this trim gets six airbags, front parking sensors, 16-inch diamond-cut alloys with red wheel cap, red front brake callipers, glossy black grille with GT-Line logo, diffuser fin, aluminium finished pedals, wireless charger with cooling function, etc.
