Kia Motor India had announced its plan to launch fourth product in early 2022. While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed the details of the upcoming model, it’s reported to be the 7-seater version of the Kia Seltos. In the premium 7-seater SUV segment, the new Kia SUV will face challenge from cars likely Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. The model could be offered with 6 and 7-seats layouts. Recently, a production-ready test mule of the new Kia Seltos 7-seater SUV was caught on camera revealing a few design details.
The spotted prototype carries a new mesh pattern air dam on the front bumper. Its headlamps, alloy wheels and taillamps appear production ready. While most of the design elements will be retained, the new Kia Seltos 7-seater SUV will get an extended front and rear overhangs with more prominent rear-quarter glass area for the third row. Its wheelbase will also be longer than the 5-seater Seltos.
As of now details are scanty. Though, the new Kia 7-seater SUV is likely to have interior layout and features similar to the Seltos. Features such as a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch multi info display, UVO connectivity features, a 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, Bose 8-sepaker sound system, an 8-way power driver’s seat, air purifier, wireless charging, power sunroof, blind spot monitor, front parking sensors, ESC, hill start assist, vehicle stability management, tyre pressure monitoring system and multiple airbags are likely to be carried forward from the Seltos 5-seater. On the engine front, the new Kia Seltos 7-seater SUV is expected to offer 1.5L diesel and 2.0L turbo petrol motors making 115PS with 250Nm and 159PS with 191Nm respectively. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are likely to be on offer. We expect it to be priced between Rs 13 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
