Seeing the growing demand for 7-seater SUVs, Hyundai has recently introduced the Alcazar based on the new-gen Creta SUV. The Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV is scheduled to be launched in the next couple of months. This SUV will be positioned against the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. While the Safari is a 7-seater version of the Hector, the Hector Plus is a 7-seater version of the Hector.
For people not in the know, the new Creta is based on the Kia Seltos platform. This suggests that Kia could introduce the 7-seater version of the Seltos SUV. However, the Korean automaker is yet to make an official announcement on the same. A new rendering from IAB reveals the possible styling of the new Kia Seltos 7-seater.
The Kia Seltos 7-seater will feature an increased wheelbase and will have an extended front and rear overhangs. The rendering shows a more prominent rear-quarter glass area for the third row. The window line has also been revised to accommodate the glass area. It is expected to feature a more upright tail section along with new bumpers and tail-lights. The new model could receive newly styled front grille along with bigger alloys.
Like the new Alcazar, the LWB Kia Seltos could carry a different name and is likely to be offered in 6-and 7-seat layouts. The new model will ride on significantly longer wheelbase and the length will be increased significantly to accommodate third-row of seats. The new SUV could share the engine options with the new Hyundai Alcazar, which includes a 159PS, 2.0L petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5L diesel.
Kia Motors will present the updated Seltos SUV on April 27, 2021. The updated model will receive a new logo and new features. The company will also introduce a special Gravity Edition variant of the Seltos SUV, which will be introduced as a new top-spec model. Adding to it, the 2021 Kia Seltos will receive the iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) gearbox.
