Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar will launch the XE sports sedan by the early 2015. Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the new XE sedan is likely to make its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The new model will compete against the likes of Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The Jaguar XE sports sedan will be the first model to be developed on Jaguar’s all new advanced aluminum architecture, which will also underpin the future Jaguars including the C-X17 crossover. The new scalable architecture will be lighter, while the engine is expected to be mounted longitudinally and driver the rear or all four wheels.

This model will be powered by the high performance 3.0-litre V6 engine that also does its duty in the F-Type. The engine churns out a maximum power output of 340bhp and 380bhp in F-Type S. It can attain a top speed of 300kmph, which is pretty quick. The Jaguar XE will also get a more economical 2.0-litre engine. This engine is likely to feature the ZF eight-speed auto gearbox which sends the power to the rear wheels or to all four wheels.

The Jaguar XE is expected to make its Indian debut by the second half of 2015. It is likely to be tagged in the range of Rs. 30-45 lakh.
