Fiat India unveiled the Punto Avventura crossover hatchback at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The vehicle will go on sale by the end of this year and it will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and upcoming Toyota Etios Cross. This crossover hatch will help the company to make its entry into the growing compact crossover segment of the country. Here we bring you a small comparison between the Fiat Avventura and its closest competitor Etios Cross.

Toyota Etios Cross Vs Volkswagen Cross Polo
The Fiat Avventura is based on the Punto hatchback; however, it gets body cladding all around while the ground clearance of this model has been increased to offer sporty character. The front fascia of the crossover features mesh grille which is complemented by sleek sweptback headlamps. The vehicle gets a silver plate positioned below the large air intake which offers a space for fog lamps and LEDs. At the back, the vehicle features a completely new bumper and a rear wheel mounted on an independent swing arm on the boot. It is equipped with a dual exhausts and tail lamp assembly with LEDs.
The Toyota Etios Cross is basically the beefed up version of Etios hatchback. The vehicle gets black plastic cladding on the lower half of the car which adds to its sporty character. It flared wheel arches have been fitted to a new 10-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels. The crossover features a revised front bumper with new fog lamp assembly and grille, which distinguish it from the regular hatchback model.
The Avventura shares its interiors with the regular Punto hatchback model; however, it gets some additional features. Inside the cabin, it features bright orange accents around the dash and orange stitching that matches well with the dark grey and white fabric upholstery. This crossover sports three gauges over the AC vents. It is equipped with features such as climate control, cruise control and 2-DIN music system. On the other hand, the Top spec Etios Cross model gets an integrated 2-DIN audio system which is compatible with AUX-in, USB and Bluetooth. The vehicle gets piano black interiors, sporty seat fabric with white stitch and logo.
The Toyota Etios Cross is expected to cost around Rs. 40,000-50,000 more than the regular Etios Liva trim. So, it is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6 lakh to 8 lakh. On the other hand, the Fiat Punto Avventura is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh for the top spec diesel model.
