India’s Top 5 Midsize SUVs To Get Updates

As mid-size SUV segment is booming in India, car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki and Toyota joined the bandwagon with Grand Vitara and Hyryder respectively. Tata Motors is also reported to foray into the mid-size SUV space in the next couple of years. The competition will get fiercer with the arrival of new entrants and to withstand against rivals the existing mid-size SUVs will get significant updates. Here’re some key details of India’s top 5 midsize SUVs that will receive updates in coming months.

Hyundai Creta

2023 Hyundai Creta facelift

The 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will make its first public appearance in India at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. Its market launch is likely to happen before the end of this fiscal year. The SUV will feature Hyundai’s new parametric grille similar to the new-gen Tucson. It will also get newly-designed rectangular-shaped headlamps with LED DRLs, revised front bumper with slimmer and wider air-inlet, updated tailgate and rear bumper. On the feature front, the new Creta midsize SUV will get an updated 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car tech. 2022 Kia Seltos India Launch

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift has already made its global debut in the South Korea. While the carmaker hasn’t yet denied its India launch, the official arrival timeline is yet to be revealed. Most of the design changes have been made at its front end. The updated Seltos gets a new Tiger-nose grille, redesigned headlamps with LED DRLs, larger air dam, revised lower bumper, a new horn-shaped faux skid plate and newly-designed fog lamp assembly. A few changes have been made to its rear section as well. Inside, the SUV gets an updated 10.25-inch infotainment system with new connected car features. 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift

Tata Motors will give a mid-life update to its popular Harrier SUV in early 2023. The SUV’s facelifted model is likely to debut at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. The 2023 Tata Harrier will be high on features and come with improved design. It could be Tata’s first model to offer ADAS technology. The suite will include adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane departure warning system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, blind spot assist and more. It might also come with the larger and updated infotainment system and a 360 degree surround view camera. Powering the new Harrier midsize SUV is likely to be the same 2.0L diesel engine that’s good enough for 170bhp and 350Nm. More details here…

Tata Safari will also witness a mid-life update in the next few months. The updated model is expected to be showcased alongside the new Harrier at the Auto Expo in January, 2023. The spy images reveal that the 2023 Tata Safari facelift could be offered with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system and a 360 degree camera. Its touchscreen infotainment system will also be revised with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. On the exterior, the new Safari will carry the new grille with silver finish holes and more circular headlamps with sharper LED DRLs. It might get some new exterior colour options. 2022 MG Hector facelift Teaser

MG Motor India will soon roll out the Hector facelift in the country. The carmaker says that its interior has been conceptualized as a ‘Symphony of Luxury’ and offers a “cinematic and immersive experience”. The updated midsize SUV will have dual-tone Oak White and Black interior theme with brushed metal finish. Other major changes will include a new multi-functional steering wheel, chrome finish on the air-con vents and steering wheel and a new digital instrument console. Its new touchscreen infotainment system will be supported with Next-Gen i-SMART tech and wireless smartphone connectivity.
