Hyundai’s New SUV Concept Previews Design Direction for Next Tucson
Korean automaker, Hyundai has released a new teaser image of the SUV concept, which company claims a “ground-breaking” concept. The new Hyundai SUV concept is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept is the seventh in a series of Hyundai Design Center concepts showing Hyundai’s evolving Sensuous Sportiness global design language. We believe that the concept will preview the design direction for the next-gen Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai hasn’t released much of the details about the concept. Going by the teaser, it is visible that the SUV has square wheel arches and a very complicated front grille pattern. It also misses out on the conventional door handles and side mirrors.
The front design seems heavily inspired by the recently introduced 2020 Grandeur facelift and the 2018 Le Fil Rouge concept. It features the brand’s cascading style grille that blends with uniquely styled headlamps. The front bumper seems equipped with air curtains to guide the airflow and improve aerodynamic efficiency. The grille is fancy and is more of a show as the air shutters are closed when the vehicle is stationary and slide open when the SUV is in motion.
The teaser video also reveals the full-width rear light strip. There is a charging point as the SUV gets a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The company is yet to reveal the technical specifications of the SUV concept.“We pursue innovative solutions in design and add emotional value to our product experience through sensuous sportiness design language,” said SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center.
