To be based on new gen Hyundai i10 hatchback, the new A-segment SUV will challenge the likes of Renault Kwid 1.0L and Maruti Ignis

South Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch a sub-4 meter compact SUV in the country in 2019. Likely to be unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the new SUV will be based on the Carlino concept. Just to jog your memory, Hyundai had showcased the Carlino compact SUV concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. This compact SUV will challenge the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon. If media reports are to be believed, the Korean automaker is also working on a small SUV to rival the likes of Renault Kwid 1.0L and Maruti Ignis.

This new A-segment SUV is expected to be launched in the country by 2020. Hyundai is also working on the next-gen Grand i10, which will be launched in 2020. We believe that the new small SUV will share platform with the i10; however, it will be priced slightly on lower side to compete well against the already established players.
