Korean automaker, Hyundai has started testing the new Venue facelift on the Indian roads. The new Venue is likely to be launched in the country by mid-2022. It will come with significantly revised exterior and upgraded interior; however, engine options will remain the same. The design will be inspired by new Hyundai Tucson and the recently unveiled Creta facelift. It will be offered with the existing engine options – a 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.0L turbo petrol & a 1.5L turbo diesel.

The updated Creta facelift is likely to be launched by mid-2022. The SUV is already on sale in Indonesia. It was first unveiled at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021. The new Creta facelift comes with aggressive design language along with some interior changes. It features Hyundai’s new Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, which we have already seen on the new Tucson and the Venue facelift.

The new Creta facelift gets a new parametric jewel pattern grille with integrated LED DRLs, new LED headlamps, revised bumper with slimmer air-inlet, a silver faux skid plate, new fog lamps, dual-tone alloys, new LED tail-lights, etc. The new Creta facelift is likely to get ADAS and a 360 degree camera. The new Hyundai Creta facelift will retain the existing engine line-up that includes a 1.4L turbo petrol, a 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 1.5L NA petrol.

Hyundai will launch the new generation Tucson in the next few months. In fact, the SUV has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads.The new generation Tucson comes with bold exterior design, as it features the brand’s new design language – “Sensuous Sportiness.” The international spec model comes with multiple engine options including a 2.5L inline 4-cylinder petrol, a 1.6L turbo petrol, a 1.6L petrol with an electric motor. The India-spec model is likely to retain the existing 2.0L turbo petrol and a turbo-diesel engine.

Hyundai will soon give a mid-life facelift to the Kona Electric Vehicle this year. The updated model will come with comprehensive cosmetic and feature updates. It comes with a newly designed headlamps, slightly tweaked bumpers, wheel arches with body colour finish, new alloys and less body cladding. It comes equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, updated BlueLink connected car tech, blind spot assistance, etc. The new Kona EV will come with the 39.2kWh battery and 136bhp electric motor. The automaker might also introduce the larger battery with the Kona facelift.

Hyundai had showcased the Ioniq 5 electric crossover at the inaugural event of its new corporate headquarters at Gurgaon. It is expected to be launched in the country before the end of 2022-23 financial year. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV will come as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and is likely to be priced somewhere around Rs 45 lakh to Rs 60 lakh. This electric crossover is developed on the brand’s EV dedicated – E-GMP or Electric Global Modular platform. The Ioniq 5 is available with two battery sizes –  72.6kWh and 58kWh. Both comes with rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive layouts.

It is reported that Hyundai is planning to enter the entry-level sub-4 meter subcompact SUV segment. The company is preparing a new subcompact SUV to rival the likes of the Tata Punch and the Maruti Ignis. Codenamed Hyundai Ai3, the new CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle) is expected to be launched in 2023. Hyundai has recently introduced the Casper micro SUV in South Korea, which is based on new Santro platform. The India-spec model will also be based on the same platform; however, it will be bigger than the Casper.
