Despite being massive slowdown, Utility vehicles have been doing pretty decent business for the automakers. However, the UV segment is also facing the heat due to rising fuel prices, negative sentiment towards diesel fuel and higher cost. Here is a list of top 5 bestselling SUVs in India in May 2019 –

The Hyundai Creta has been doing tremendous numbers for the Korean automaker in India. The vehicle manages to achieve an average sale of over 10,000 units per month. In May, Hyundai sold 9,054 units of the Creta. It outsold the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, which registered a sale of 8,781 units.
The newly launched Hyundai Venue secured the third position, beating the likes of Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon. Hyundai delivered 7,049 units of the Venue to dealerships. On the other hand, Mahindra sold 5,113 units of the XUV300 compact SUV. Tata Motors delivered 4,506 units of the Nexon compact SUV in May 2019. The sales number for Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V and TUV300 stands at 3,604, 1,520 and 1,393 respectively.
Hyundai Creta is the only model in the list, which sits above 4 meter in length. In India, the Creta directly rivals the Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur. The segment will soon receive a new entrant in the form of Kia Seltos, which is expected to be launched in July 2019.
