The production-spec of Hyundai’s upcoming mini SUV will be named Casper in Korea. The same model will come to India next year, but with a different nameplate. The micro SUV is currently in its testing phase and is reported to enter into production in the month of September. While the final model of the Hyundai Casper is a couple of months away, a new digital rendering preview its possible design. Upfront, the rendered model carries circular projector headlamps along with an additional set and circular LED DRLs surround.
There is a large grille stretching across the width of the SUV and turn indicators positioned just below the bonnet. The lower portion of the front bumper has grey colour finish. You can notice the blacked-out, 5-spoke alloy wheels and black plastic cladding running through its length. It has black roof with roof rails. The rear door handles are positioned on the C-pillar.
Interior details of the upcoming Hyundai Casper micro SUV are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s reported to come with the dual-tone interior theme with black finish doors and white upholstery and armrest. The new Tata mini SUV will offer a touchscreen infotainment system that will be compatible to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hyundai’s new mini SUV will be built on the K1 platform that’s designed especially for the emerging markets. The same architecture underpins the Santo and Grand i10 Nios hatchbacks. Its overall length, width and height are likely to be around 3595mm, 1595mm and 1575mm respectively.
In India, the Hyundai Casper mini SUV could be offered with the 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated (83bhp/114Nm) and 1.1L, 3-cylinder petrol (for lower trims) engine options. The Venue’s 1.0L turbo petrol powertrain will be available in select markets. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
