Hyundai Alcazar Beats Tata Safari – June 2021 Sales

Hyundai had launched the 7-seater Alcazar SUV on June 18, 2021. The company said that the SUV has received an overwhelming response from buyers, which is evident from its first month sales. A total of 3,103 units of the Alcazar were dispatched last month.

In June 2021 sales, Hyundai Alcazar beats most of its rivals including the MG Hector Plus and the Tata Safari. Tata Motors sold 1,730 units of the Safari and 2,041 units of the Harrier in June. On the other hand, MG Motors dispatched 3,002 units of Hector & Hector Plus combined. Interestingly, Mahindra Scorpio managed to beat all its rivals in the 7-seater SUV segment, Mahindra sold 4,160 units of the Scorpio and 633 units of the XUV500 in June 2021.

Hyundai Creta is currently dominating the mid-sized SUV segment with 9,941 units sold in June. Kia dispatched 8,549 units of Seltos in June 2021. Jeep sold 789 units of Compass, while Citroen sold 41 units of C5 Aircross last month.

Hyundai Alcazar Prices & Specs

The Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV is available in petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol model is available in the price bracket of Rs Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 19.84 lakh, while the diesel Alcazar costs Rs 16.53 lakh for base and Rs 20 lakh for top-end model. It comes in three trims – Prestige, Platinum and Signature – and two engine and gearbox options.

The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that churns out 159PS of power and 192Nm of torque. The diesel variant features a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that also powers the Creta. Hyundai claims that the diesel engine is calibrated to offer better power delivery. This engine produces 113bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
