Harley LiveWire One – Brand’s First Electric Motorcycle Unveiled

LiveWire, the all-electric sub-brand of Harley-Davidson, has introduced its first electric motorcycle – LiveWire One. The bike has been priced at $21,999 (around Rs 16.41 lakh) in the US market. Just so you know, the original Harley-Davidson LiveWire was launched at $29,799 (around Rs 22.23 lakh) two years back. Compared to the original model, the new Harley LiveWire electric bike is significantly less expensive. The motorcycle looks exactly similar to the Harley-Davidson version, but it’s available in Black and White colour schemes without the signature badge.

Besides design, the new LiveWire One electric bike uses the same 78kW electric motor that’s good for 105bhp. It can accelerate 0 to 96kmph in 3.0-3.1 seconds and offer a top speed of 110mhp (177kmph). In city, the new LiveWire electric bike delivers a claimed range of 146 miles (235km). While its highway range is yet to be revealed by the company, it’s likely to offer 80 miles (129km) at 70mph (112kmph) on a single charge. Similar to the original LiveWire, the new model comes with a 15.5kW battery pack. It takes 60 minutes to get fully charged via a DC fast charger.

Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson, said, “As part of The Hardwire Strategy, we made a commitment that Harley-Davidson would lead in electric. We recognized the pioneering spirit and brand value in LiveWire for our community and took the decision to evolve the original LiveWire motorcycle into a dedicated EV brand.”

“Today’s LiveWire ONE builds on the DNA of Harley-Davidson but with the electric focus and ambition of the new LiveWire brand. Harley-Davidson and LiveWire will continue to rewrite the motorcycle rulebook and we are excited about this next chapter in our legacy”, he further added.

The new Harley-Davidson LiveWire One electric bike will be launched in other global markets sometime in 2022.
