Honda Cars India recently introduced the updated City sedan within the price range of Rs 11.49 lakh – Rs 20.39 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The Japanese automaker is now ready to unveil its all-new midsize SUV in June, which will be followed by its market launch. The new Honda SUV will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos. Besides this, the company will bring in the third-generation Honda Amaze sometime next year. Here’re some key details of the aforementioned upcoming Honda cars.
New Honda SUV
Honda’s new SUV will be the brand’s second hybrid offering that’s reported to come with the 1.5L Atkinson cycle with eHEV hybrid tech and 1.5L iVTEC petrol engine options. Both setups will be sourced from the City sedan. While the strong hybrid version makes 109bhp with 253Nm, the gasoline motor returns 121bhp with 145Nm. The new mid-size SUV will derive its design inspired from Honda’s global models. Features such as Honda’s Lane Watch system, 360 degree camera, connected car tech, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), ESC, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake, hill launch assist, VSM, and multiple airbags are likely to be on offer. New-Gen Honda Amaze
The next-generation Honda Amaze will share its platform with the new mid-size SUV, which is essentially the modified version of its existing platform. Major changes are expected to be made inside and out. Design of the 2024 Honda Amaze might share some resemblance with the global-spec Accord. Inside, there could be a new them with the updated free-standing touchscreen infotainment system supporting latest smartphone connectivity. Under the hood, the new Amaze is likely to hose the 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The motor generates a peak power of 90bhp and 110Nm of torque.
