As we all know, Honda Cars India is working on two new SUVs to challenge dominance of Hyundai Creta and Maruti Brezza in the mid-size SUV and sub-4 meter segments respectively. In fact, the carmaker has confirmed that its first SUV will debut during summer 2023. Its market launch is likely to happen during this year’s festive season. The Japanese automaker will also give a generation change to its popular Amaze compact sedan in 2024.
According to a fresh media report, the 2024 Honda Amaze could be designed on the modified version of its existing platform. The same architecture will be used for the upcoming new Honda mid-size SUV. Significant cosmetic changes are expected to be made to the all-new Amaze. The compact sedan might derive its design inspiration from the new City and (global-spec) Accord.
Interior could also share some of its features with the new Accord and HR-V SUV. The new 2024 Honda Amaze is likely to come with a new interior layout and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity. The current-generation version comes with features such as the automatic climate control, cruise control, engine start/stop button, rear view camera with guidelines, speed sensing auto door lock function, tilt adjustable steering, rear armrest with cup holder, LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Aforementioned features will be carried forward to the new Honda Amaze 2024.
Engine setup the all-new Honda Amaze is likely to include a 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit. The motor makes a peak power of 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options will also be the same – a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The existing 1.5L diesel engine will be discontinued due to the upcoming RDE norms that will be implemented in April 2023.
