Honda Hornet 2.0-Based Adventure Bike Under Development

The Japanese two-wheeler maker might consider a small adventure bike based on the Honda Hornet 2.0 for the Indian market. Speaking to a media publication, Atsushi Ogata, President, CEO and MD, HMSI has revealed that the brand has new Hornet 2.0 platform that can be used for different categories including the adventure segment. Honda’s new adventure bike will have a small capacity engine like “160cc or 200cc”.

Design and styling of the upcoming Honda’s new small capacity adventure motorcycle will be inspired by CRF 250L range. Besides the platform, the model might share its engine and components with the Hornet 2.0. The latter one comes with a 184cc engine boosted with fuel injection technology. The motor has been tuned for generating power worth 17bhpand 16.1Nm of torque. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed gearbox.

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is claimed to offer best-in-segment mid-range torque along with smooth power delivery and less friction losses.

Recently, Honda 2Wheeler marked its entry into the retro-classic motorcycle segment with Honda H’ness CB350. The bike is being offered in DLX and DLX variants priced at Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.90 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom).
