2020 Hyundai i20 Dealer-Level Bookings Open; Launch In November

The long-awaited 2020 Hyundai i20 premium hatchback is scheduled to be launched in the first week of November 2020. While official pre-bookings are expected to commence in the last week of October, Hyundai dealers have started taking pre-orders for the premium hatchback at a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Hyundai has already started dispatching the new-gen i20 hatchback to the dealerships. In fact, the new model has been spotted several times at Hyundai’s dealership yards. Leaked informations reveal that the 2020 Hyundai i20 will come in 6 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options. The montone colours include Sun Burn Sway, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Starry Night and Titan Grey. On the other hand, the dual-tone paint schemes include 2Tone Black with White and Fiery Red with Black.

The new-gen Hyundai i20 is designed on the brand’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. It comes with all-new design with aggressive front, which is dominated by a large cascading grille, chunky headlamps with LED DRLs, sculpted bonnet and stylish fog lamps. It comes with blacked-out ORVMs, strong belt line that runs across the length and sharp fin antenna. Other design highlights include sloping roofline, new tailgate with black treatment, roof-integrated spoiler, shark-fin antenna and wrap-around LED tail-lamps connected by a light strip.

Inside the cabin, the 2020 Hyundai i20 gets an all-new dashboard design. The central console is dominated by a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Navigation and Voice Recognition, and Hyundai’s BlueLink Connected car technologies. The hatchback also gets air purifier with virus protection, digital instrument console, climate control, cruise control, sunroof, Bose premium sound system and others.

It is rumoured to be offered in 4 trim levels – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). The premium hatchback will come in 3 engine options – a 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo-diesel. The naturally-aspirated engine produces 82bhp and 114Nm, while the turbo unit is good for 118bhp and 172Nm. The diesel engine is likely to offer in two states of tunes – 99bhp/240Nm and 113bhp/250Nm. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT (1.0L petrol), a 6-speed iMT (1.0L petrol) and 6-speed torque convertor AT (1.5L diesel).
