Honda Hornet 2.0 Motorcycle – 5 Things You Should Know

Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Honda has launched the new Hornet 2.0 motorcycle in the Indian market. The new motorcycle comes equipped with BSVI compliant engine, new premium features and aggressive styling. The new Honda Hornet 2.0 motorcycle will start reaching dealerships from September 2020. Here are 5 things you should know about the new Honda Hornet 2.0 premium motorcycle –

184cc Motorcycle

Most of the people believe that the new Honda Hornet 2.0 is a 200cc motorcycle. However, it is an 184cc motorcycle based on the Honda CBF190R. This motorcycle is already on sale in select international markets including China.

It is powered by a new 184cc HET BS6 PGM-FI engine, which churns out a maximum power output of 17bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 16.1Nm at 6,000rpm. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 11.25 seconds. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.

USD front forks

The new Honda Hornet 2.0 also comes equipped with the segment-first golden upside-down front forks. The USD suspension system is claimed to handle bumps with ease. The bike gets mono-shock rear suspension unit that improves stability and gives superior handling.

LED lighting & Digital Instrument Console

The new Hornet comes equipped with LED lights all around. It comes equipped with LED headlamps, X-shaped LED tail-lamps and LED winkers. The motorcycle gets pure digital instrument console with the 5-level Illumination Control. This system shows gear position indicator, battery voltmeter and service due indicator, etc.

Braking System

The new motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 110/70 and 140/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively. The motorcycle gets petal disc brakes at the both ends (276mm front disc and 220mm rear disc). It also gets single-channel ABS system as standard.

The new Hornet 2.0 or 184cc motorcycle is available at a price tag of Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram Haryana). The motorcycle is positioned as a premium alternative to the TVS Apache RTR 180, which is priced at Rs 1.08 lakh. The motorcycle could also impact the sales of the bigger 200cc bikes including Hero Xtreme 200R, TVS Apache 200 and others.
