Honda CB350 (RE Classic 350 Rival) – Top 10 Things To Know

Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Honda has re-introduced the CB350 nameplate with an all-new cruiser motorcycle – called the Honda Hness CB 350. The new motorcycle will also mark the entry of Honda 2Wheelers in the cruiser motorcycle segment, which is dominated by Royal Enfield in India. Engine Specifications

Powering the Honda CB350 is a 348.36cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 20.78bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 30Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. The H’ness CB350 has a large tailpipe of 45mm that produces a low-pitched sound. The chamber will deliver a rich thumping exhaust note, while the exhaust pipes are double skinned to prevent heat discoloration.

The new CB350 features neo-retro Classic profile, featuring dominating front fascia with round LED headlamps, flat handlebars and large wheels. The motorcycle gets dual-tone fuel tank, single low seat, old-school simple-looking tail-piece, long exhaust pipe and dual-tone colour schemes with contrasting brown saddle. The Honda Hness CB 350 comes with minimalist, bare-bones styling. Chrome plated parts (exhaust, mirrors and fenders) and wider rear section tyre offers a bold with retro yet modern appeal.

Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)

This is essentially a traction control system, which helps in maintaining rear wheel traction by detecting difference between front and rear wheel speeds, calcuating the slip ratio and controlling engine torque via the fuel injection. Customers will have an option to turn ON and OFF the Selectable Torque Control using a switch on the left side of meter.

Honda Smartphone voice control

The DLX Pro variant of the CB350 comes equipped with Honda Smartphone Voice Control system, which allows rider to connect his smartphone with the motorcycle via Bluetooth through HSVCS application. The rider can operate the system with controls on the left side of the handle bar. The features rider can use include phone calls, navigations, music playback and incoming messages.

Assist and Slipper Clutch

The motorcycle comes fitted with Slipper clutch, which makes the gear shifts smoother while reducing clutch lever operation load. This is in returns offer less fatigue and more comfort during frequent shifts.

Digital Analogue instrument console

The new Honda Hness CB350 features a circular single-pod instrument console with analogue counter and a small digital display. The console integrates details like HSTC, ABS, side stand indicator, ECO indicator, real-time mileage, average mileage, HSVCS (Smartphone Voice Control System), gear position, distance to empty and battery voltage.

Braking, Suspension

For braking, the motorcycle hgets 310mm front disc and 240mm rear disc brakes. The bike also gets dual-channel ABS system. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel shod with 100/90 and 130/70 section tyres respectively.

The Honda CB350 is based on the Half Duplex Cradle chassis. For suspension duties, the motorcycle gets telescopic forks at the front and twin-hydraulic at the rear.

Competition

The new CB350 will directly rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Classic and the Benelli Imeriale. Bajaj-Triumph JV is also readying an entry-level cruiser motorcycle, which is expected to arrive in the next 1-2 years.

Interested buyers can book the new CB350 online or via Honda BigWing dealerships network. It will be the brand’s smallest & most affordable motorcycle to be sold through BigWing network. The company has announced that the new Honda CB350 will be priced around Rs 1.90 lakh. Honda is also introducing a special 6 years warranty package (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty) on the H’ness.

Variants & Colours

The new CB350 will be offered in two variants – DLX and DLX Pro. The DLX variant is available in 3 colour options – Precious Red Metallic, Peal Night Star Black and Mat Marshal Green Metallic. The DLX Pro variant is offered in 3 dual-tone scheme – Athletic Blue Metallic & Virtuous White, Pearl Night Star Black & Spear Silver Metallic, and Mat Steel Black Metallic & Mat Massive Grey Metallic.
