Hero Moto Corp introduced its first indigenously developed motorcycle – Hero Splendor iSmart 110 – in the Indian market at Rs 53,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). As a reminder, the bike broke cover at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo alongside the Xtreme 200S, Duet E and XF3R. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has been designed and developed from ground up by Hero’s in-house R&D team.
What further makes it a special bike is a specific in-house technology called the i3S. The working of i3S technique is very much similar to the Start/Stop technology which is mostly seen in cars. This system turns off the engine automatically whenever the bike stands idle and turns it on back whenever required. It results in better fuel efficiency and higher mileage than others.
