Great Wall Motors is gearing up to begin its Indian operations very soon. The Chinese carmaker has already established a research centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka with “a special focus on Autonomous Driving System, Hybrid Control Unit, Vehicle Control Unit and Battery Management System”. Now, GMW India’s official website goes live featuring multiple images of the Haval F7 SUV on the homepage. Just so you know, the Haval F7 made its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo alongside the Haval F5.
Globally, the Haval F7 is available with the 1.5L T-GDI turbo petrol and 2.0L T-GDI turbo petrol engines making 150bhp with 280Nm and 190bhp with 340Nm respectively. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is standard across the model lineup. Both FWD (front-wheel-drive) and AWD (all-wheel-drive) are on offer. Here, it could be offered with diesel-manual combination.
Dimensionally, the F7 measures 4620mm in length, 1846mm in width and 1690mm in height. Haval’s SUV is significantly longer (215mm) than the Jeep Compass (by 215mm) and Hyundai Tucson (by 140mm). In fact, its wheelbase (2725mm) is longer than both the aforementioned SUV. That means, the Haval SUV will be more spacious than its rivals.
On the feature front, the Haval F7 offers a 9-inch touchscreen infotainent system (angled towards the driver) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, faux leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, a 360 degree parking camera, rollover, tyre pressure monitoring system and many more goodies.
Recently, the Chinese carmaker trademarked the Haval Jolion name in India. It hints that the SUV could be the brand’s first offering, which is based on the modular LEMON platform. In China, the Jolion is offered with 147bhp, 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo engine and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The SUV comes with Standard, Eco, Sport and Snowfield modes.
