Haval F7 (Jeep Compass Rival) – What We Know So Far
Great Wall Motors, the Chinese automobile giant, marked its India debut at the recently-concluded Auto Expo 2020. The company will begin its Indian operations with two Haval SUVs – F5 and F7. Both models were showcased at the biennial event. Slated to launch sometime in 2021, the Haval F7 will take head-to-head against the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. Exterior Design
In terms of design and styling, the Haval H7 looks different from its segment rivals. The SUV sports a hexagonal grille with a honeycomb pattern, which is flanked by quad-headlamps and fog lamps with LED DRLs. The muscular character lines over the front and rear wheel arches further enhance its sporty looks. Dimensions
The overall length, width and height of the F7 stand at 4620mm, 1846mm and 1690mm respectively. Its ground clearance is rated at 190mm. The SUV sits on 2725mm long wheelbase and offers a boot space of 723-litres. This means, the new Haval SUV is longer, wider and taller than the Jeep Compass. In fact, it has longer wheelbase, higher ground clearance and more cargo space to offer.
Interiors and Features
Interior of the new Haval SUV is packed with lots of comfort goodies. The vehicle offers a panoramic sunroof, power adjustable front seats, faux leather upholstery and electronic parking brake. On the safety front, the F7 offers a 360 degree parking camera, 6 airbags, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert system, rollover mitigation, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.
Powertrains
In global markets, the Haval F7 is offered with two engine options – a 1.5L T-GDI turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre T-GDI turbo. While the former makes a top power of 150bhp with 280Nm of torque, the latter delivers 190bhp against 340Nm of torque. Read – Key Features of Haval H SUV Concept
Both motors come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It can be had either with the FWD (front-wheel-drive) or AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. In India, it might be offered with diesel engine and manual gearbox option as well.
Expected Price
Prices of the Haval F7 are likely to start from Rs 16 lakh for the base model and go up to Rs 21 lakh for the fully-loaded variant (ex-showroom).
