Ford Territory SUV India Launch In Coming Months – Report

According to a fresh media report, Ford might introduce the Territory 5-seater compact SUV in India in coming months. The model is already on sale in select Asian markets including China and Philippines.

In the company’s global lineup, the new Ford Territory sits between the EcoSport and Explorer SUVs. In Philippines, the SUV has been offered in two variants – Trend and Titanium – priced at PhP 1,277,000 and PhP 1,310,000 respectively.

Both variants have been powered by a 1.5L turbocharged EcoBoost engine paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. The motor pushes out a peak power of 141bhp at 4,500-5,200rpm and 225Nm of torque at 1,500-4,000rpm. The SUV comes with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. The SUV sits on a unibody frame with fully independent suspension all around. Damping duties are taken care of by a MacPherson shock upfront and a multi-link rear unit. The compact SUV runs on dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels and have disc brakes at both ends.

Ford Territory Engine Specs

The 2021 Ford Territory offers a cargo space of 420-litres with the rear seats up. It can be increased up to 1000-litres with folded 60:40 seats. Its rear seats have a locking system that doesn’t let them flop while they are folded. The overall length, width and height stand at 4856mm, 1898mm and 1714mm respectively. The entry-level Trend trim comes equipped with features such as a moonroof panoramic, perforated leather seat upholstery, rear view mirror auto dimming with high mount USB port, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 3.5-inch LCD display for instrument cluster, smart keyless entry with push button start, electronic power assisted steering, electronic parking brake and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill launch assist, ABS, EBD, traction control, cruise control and many more goodies.

Features such as a HD 360 degree camera, touchscreen infotainment system with 3 selectable themes, blind spot information, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, lane departure warning system are reserved for the top-end Titanium+ variant.
