The much-awaited Citroen C5 Aircross will finally go on sale in the Indian market on April 7, 2021. Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV online or via Citroen’s La Maison dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000. Buyers who pre-book the new C5 Aircross will get a complementary maintenance package of 5 years/50,000kms.
Citroen is also giving a standard 3 year/ 1 lakh km warranty along with the roadside assistance. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be positioned against the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. The will come as a CKD (Completely Knocked-Down) kit and will be assembled at the CK Birla plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. It is estimated to be priced around Rs 27 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. The Citroen C5 Aircross premium SUV will be made available in two variants – Feel and Shine. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that churns out 177bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The C5 Aircross is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.6kmpl.
In terms of proportions, the new C5 Aircross is 4,500mm long, 2,099mm wide and 1,710mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,730mm. The SUV offers a boot space of 580-litres. It is around 95mm longer, 281mm wider and 70mm taller than the Compass. In fact, the SUV has 94mm longer wheelbase compared to the American counter-part.
The C5 Aircross Feel variant comes equipped with features such as automatic headlamps with wipers, halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, 18-inch alloys, 12.3-inch digital instrument console, 8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, hands-free parking, auto dimming IRVM, keyless entry and go, cruise control, electronic parking brake, TPMs, front and rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, Traction control, ESP, hill descent control, hill start assist, rear view camera and others.
The Citroen C5 Aircross Shine variant has all the features that are accessible in the Feel variant. This variant gets LED headlamps, factory-fitted Panoramic sunroof and hands-free tailgate opening.
