2021 Audi S5 Sportback Launch On 22nd March – 10 Key Features

Audi India has confirmed that it will announce prices of the S5 Sportback facelift on 22nd March 2021. In the company’s product lineup, it will sit above the A5 and below the RS5 and is expected to be priced around Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). Here, it will lock horns against cars like Mercedes-AMG C 43, BMW M340i and Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 AMG. The 2021 Audi S5 Sportback facelift has witnessed noticeable cosmetic changes along with upgraded technology.

Upfront, the new Audi S5 Sportback facelift features a newly-designed, wider grille with honeycomb inserts, new Matrix LED headlamps (standard), revised bumper and larger air intakes.

It has sporty silver accents around the front grille, fog lamp assembly, window line, mirrors and on the rear diffuser.

Other key design updates include a set of newly-designed, dual-tone 19-unch alloy wheels, tweaked rear bumper, redesigned LED taillamps and a new rear diffuser.

A few changes have also been made to its interior. The 2021 Audi S5 Sportback gets a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest version of Audi’s MMI system replacing the old rotary controller unit.

Its 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster has received updated navigation software.

Under the hood, the new 2021 Audi S5 Sportback facelift will employ a 3.0L V6 TFSI turbocharged petrol engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The motor has been tuned for generating a maximum power of 349bhp and 500Nm of torque.

It can do 0 to 100kmph in 4.7 seconds and attain a top speed of 250kmph.

The model offers five driving modes, namely, Individual, Dynamic, Comfort, Efficiency and Auto. It comes with the permanent AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.

Globally, the S5 Sportback is available with a 3.0L, V6 TDI diesel engine with a 48V mild hybrid system and electrically-powered compressor. The unit delivers a claimed power of 350bhp and 700Nm of torque.

Similar to the petrol version, it comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and permanent AWD and a self locking centre differential.
