Recently, the Ford Endeavour was caught on camera during its emission test at the carmaker’s Chakan based facility near Pune. While there is no official information, the model is reported to be the 2.0L twin-turbo version of the SUV. Rumour also has it that the Endeavour with twin-turbo diesel engine will hit roads in coming months. The motor returns a claimed power of 211bhp and 500Nm of torque. Currently, the SUV comes with the 2.0, 4-cylinder, single turbo diesel unit that’s good for 168bhp and 420Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The Ford Endeavour model lineup is spread across three variants – Titanium+ 4X2 AT, Titanium+ 4X4 AT and Sport Edition – priced at Rs 33.80 lakh, Rs 35.60 lakh and Rs 36.25 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
The American automaker is working on the new-generation Ford Endeavour that’s reported to arrive sometime next year. The test mules of the new model were spied testing a couple of times. The spy images reveal that the 2022 Ford Endavour will share most of its styling bits with the Ranger pickup. It will carry bolder design language with elements such as the signature C-shaped DRLs, wider air-intake, newly-designed fog lamp assembly, pronounced roof rails, a large greenhouse area, blacked alloy wheels with 6 lug nuts and new taillamps.
Globally, the new 2022 Ford Endeavour could be offered with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 2.3L turbo petrol motor. Its power and torque figures are likely to be around 270bhp and 680Nm respectively. The 2.0L twin-turbo (210bhp/500Nm) diesel and a new 3.0L, 6-cylinder turbo diesel engines will also be on offer. Reports suggest that the new-generation Endeavour model lineup will get a new off-road focused Wildtrack X variant.
