Kia Seltos X-Line Top Variant Launched; Price, Top Changes

The new Kia Seltos X-Line top-of-the-line variant has finally been launched in the Indian market. The new Seltos X Line is available at a price tag of Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec GT Line variant, the new top-of-the-line X Line variant comes with cosmetic design and interior changes.

With the new X-Line variant, Kia India is aiming to increase sales in the highly competitive mid-sized SUV segment. The SUV directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier and the newly launched 5-seater Mahindra XUV700, and the soon-to-be-launched Volkswagen Taigun. First launched in 2019, the Kia Seltos has been one of the best-selling SUVs in its segment. It comes with stylish look, feature-packed cabin and fuel efficient engines with multiple gearbox options.

Kia Seltos X Line Revealed

Speaking on the launch, Tae-Jin Park, Executive Director and Chief Sales & Business Strategy Officer, Kia India said, “With the introduction of top-of-the-line X Line trim, we want to offer an even more premium, exclusive product that will consolidate Seltos imagery leadership and premium positioning.” For people not in the know, Kia has already delivered over 2 lakh units of Seltos SUV since its India debut.

Kia Seltos X-Line Top Changes

The 2021 Kia Seltos X-Line comes with exterior updates such as new ‘Xclusive Matte Graphie’ colour option and X Line emblems. It also gets the segment-first 18-inch crystal cut matte graphite alloy wheels. The SUV comes with Radiator Matte Graphite grille with Xclusive piano black outline, fog lamp with piano black accent, and piano black front skid plates and sun orange accents. The Piano Black finish is also visible on the Dual muffler design, tailgate garnish, ORVM and on shark fin antenna. It gets side door garnish with Sun orange accents, and center wheel cap with sun orange accents.

The cabin layout of the SUV remains the same, except for the few changes. It gets leatherette upholstery in a blue shade – Kia calls it Indigo Pera. The seats got the same pattern that we have already seen on the Seltos Tech Line variant. This top-of-the-line variant is equipped with all the features that are accessible in the current top-spec model.

In terms of features, the SUV gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Kia UVO Connected car tech, and automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 360 degree camera, ambient lighting, integrated Air purifier, etc. It gets eight-speaker premium Bose sound system. For safety and security, the new X-Line has six airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, brake assist, front parking sensors, road grip control and many more.

The 2021 Kia Seltos X-Line is available with two engine options – a 1.4L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel. While the former is good for 138bhp and 250Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 7-speed DCT with petrol and a 6-speed torque convertor with diesel.
