Bajaj Auto, yesterday, announced that it will soon launch the much-awaited Pulsar RS 200 (Pulsar 200SS) in the country. The company has already showcased this affordable sportsbike on different platforms, and will launch the Turkish market. Ahead of its launch in Turkey, Bajaj Auto has revealed the specifications & other details of the bike.

According to the company, the Pulsar RS200 is the ‘Fastest Pulsar Yet’ and comes with a 200cc, 4-valve engine, and “eye-catching design”.  It is equipped with triple-spark technology, and this technology helps in attaining ideal engine speeds especially on high-speeds.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS shares its engine with the Pulsar 200 NS. This 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power output of 24.4PS at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 18.6Nm at 8,000rpm. Compared to the Pulsar 200NS, the RS200 produces around 1 PS more power and .3Nm more torque. Power is transmitted to roads via a six-speed gearbox.

Dimensionally, the RS200 is 2,060mm long, 750mm wide, 1,160mm tall and has a ground clearance of 165mm. The bike weighs 151kg and comes with a 12 litre fuel tank. However, the 200 NS comes with 14.3-litre fuel tank and weighs 145kg. The suspension system comprises of a telescopic setup up front and a single spring damper at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch rims shod with 100/80 tyres up front and 130/70 tyres at the rear. Braking system comprises of a 280mm butterfly type front disc and a 230mm butterfly type rear disc.

The front fairing of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS gets LED daytime running lights. Other features include LED taillights and dual projector headlights with automatic headlight function. The affordable bike will be made available in two variants- with and without ABS. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.10 lakh to Rs. 1.35 lakh. The India launch is expected by the end of this month. Official bookings for the bike are yet to be announced, but few dealers have already started taking pre-orders.
