Automatic Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, Vento Highline Plus Launched

Volkswagen India has rolled out the new automatic variants of the BS6 Polo hatchback and Vento sedan. The carmaker says that both models “continue to offer the desirable performance and acceleration that’s required for the Indian driving conditions”. Based on the top-end trim, the BS6 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Vento Highline Plus have been offered at an introductory price of Rs 9.67 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh respectively. For power, both models use a 1.0L TSI petrol engine that’s good enough for 109bhp and 175Nm.

The manual variants come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and the new automatic models receive a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While the BS6 Volkswagen Polo automatic is claimed to offer a fuel economy of 16.47kmpl, the Vento automatic promises 16.35kmpl. Interested buyers can book the new automatic Polo and Vento via online or their nearest dealerships. Deliveries will be commenced from 15th September, 2020.

Talking about the BS6 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, the model features black OVRM caps, black rear spoiler, GT TSI badge, rear bumper with diffuser, automatic climate control, a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Volkswagen Connect connectivity suite, leather wrapped sttering wheel and gear shift knob, voice command support, GTI inspired seats, rear parking sensors, ABS and dual airbags. The Vento Highline Plus offers LED headlamps with auto-leveling functions and DRLs, 16-inch alloys with 195/55 R16 tyres, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, 6.5-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, leatherette seat upholstery, power folding and adjustable outside mirrors, rear parking camera, four airbags and several other goodies.

Talking about the future plan, the German carmaker is ready to challenge the new Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos with the all-new Volkswagen Taigun. Previewed early this year, the Taigun is likely to come with 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engines delivering 115bhp with 200Nm and 148bhp with 250Nm respectively. It’s official launch is slated to happen early next year.
