2020 Volkswagen Polo, Vento BS6 – New Petrol, No Diesel, No DSG
Volkswagen India today announced the launch of 2020 Polo and Vento BS6 petrol, and made some major changes to the engine lineup. The company has decided to discontinue the 1.5-litre TDI diesel, 1.6-litre MPI petrol and 1.2-litre TSI from the lineup of both the models. Also, the 7-Speed DSG has now been replaced by a 6-speed torque converter. Prices for the Polo and Vento now start at Rs 5.82 lakh and 8.86 lakh respectively.
2020 Volkswagen Polo Lineup
Volkswagen Polo BS6’s Trendline, Comfortline and Highline Plus variants now get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, NA MPI engine. This engine produces 76bhp and 95Nm, and can be head with a 6-speed Manual Transmission. Read – Volkswagen T-Roc SUV – 6 Colours, Key Features, Safety Kit
There’s a turbocharged 1.0-litre TSI engine as well on offer, albeit with the Highline Plus and GT Line variants. This engine churns out an impressive 110bhp, 175Nm and is available with both the 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
Volkswagen Polo BS6 Price Range
1.0L MPI with 6-speed MT – Rs 5.82 lakh – Rs 7.82 lakh
1.0L TSI with 6-Speed MT, AT – Rs 8.02 lakh – 9.59 lakh

2020 Volkswagen Vento BS6 Lineup
Just like the Polo, the Vento’s lineup too doesn’t have the any diesel engine and 7-speed DSG gearbox. And it also gets the new 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing the same 110bhp nd 175Nm. This too can be head either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Volkswagen Vento BS6 Price Range
1.0L TSI with 6-speed Manual – Rs 8.86 lakh – Rs 11.99 lakh
1.0L TSI with 6-speed Automatic – Rs 12.09 lakh – Rs 13.29 lakh
If we talk about the price difference between the Vento BS4 and BS6, the increase is just Rs 10,000. And one will have to shell out an extra Rs 12,000 for the range-topping petrol automatic.
