Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has showcased the CNG version of its top-selling Brezza subcompact SUV at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. It will be the second CNG SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker to go on sale in the country. Prices of the 2023 Maruti Brezza CNG are yet to be announced.
Powertrain setup of the SUV includes the same 1.5L K15C petrol engine that does duty in the regular model. Though, this unit has been paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the setup delivers a maximum power of 88PS and 121.5Nm of torque.
The standard petrol motor pushes out a peak power of 102bhp and 137Nm of torque. While the power and torque figures of the Brezza CNG are slightly lower than the regular petrol version, it’s high on mileage. The CNG SUV will deliver a fuel efficiency of 27km/kg. Official details of the Maruti Brezza CNG are yet to be revealed. As per the leaked information, the factory-fitted CNG kit will be offered across the model lineup. It could be made available with both manual and automatic gearbox options. The carmaker will offer 7 CNG variants – CNG LXI 5MT, CNG VXI 5MT/6AT, CNG ZXI 5MT/6AT and CNG ZXI 5MT/6T. With CNG kit fitted in the boot space, buyers will have to compromised on the luggage area.
Similar to the regular model, the 2023 Maruti Brezza CNG will offer a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Alexa compatibility, Heads-Up Display, voice command support, wireless charging, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, connected car tech, Arkamys sound system, a sunroof, a 360 degree parking camera, USB Type-C and Type-A rear charging ports, 6 airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold assist and more.
