All-New Toyota Fortuner – 4 Big Changes (Expected)

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will expand its product portfolio with a range of new UVs (Utility Vehicles) that will hit roads in the next couple of years. The plan outlines four new SUVs (Fronx-based SUV coupe, a three-row SUV, new-gen Fortuner and an electric SUV) and a MPV (Ertiga-based). Talking about the next-generation Toyota Fortuner, the model is reported to make its global debut in 2024, followed by its India launch. Major updates will be made to its exterior, interior and powertrain. Here’re all key details on the all-new Toyota Fortuner we know so far.

New Tacoma Pickup Inspired Design

Recently, the Japanese automaker released the next-generation Toyota Tacoma pickup (global-spec) teaser images. The 2024 Toyota Fortuner is expected to share its underpinning, new hybrid powertrain and tech with the upcoming Tacoma. The pickup’s design seems to be inspired by the Land Cruise 300, Tundra pickup and Sequoia.

More Tech

If reports are to be believed, the new Fortuner could get the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It will offer safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure, automatic parking assist, forward collision warning and blind spot detection. What will further enhance its safety quotient will be Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system. The electric steering wheel will replace the existing hydraulic unit. Hybrid Powertrain

With the generation change, the Fortuner will receive the hybrid powertrain. As mentioned above, it will share its engine setup with the new Tacoma pickup. The latter one is reported to come with a 2.4L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, boosted with hybrid tech. In India, the new 2024 Toyota Fortuner is expected to come with the diesel hybrid powertrain options.

Price Expectations

The all-new Toyota Fortuner will surely be more expensive, thanks to the new advanced features, significant design changes and hybrid powertrain. The SUV’s existing model costs between Rs 32.59 lakh – Rs 50.34 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
