New Gen Nissan Kicks Spied Again; More Details Emerge

We reported earlier that Nissan is preparing the next-gen Kicks compact SUV, which is likely to be launched in 2024-25. The current generation model has been on sale in global markets since 2016 and is based on Nissan’s V platform. On the flip side, the India-spec model is based on Renault’s M0 platform that underpins the 1st & 2nd gen Duster SUV.

The new gen Nissan Kicks has recently been caught testing on foreign soil. A new set of spy images have hit the web-world, revealing revolutionary design changes. In fact, the new Kicks is in an advanced stage of testing. However, few media reports claim that the spotted model could be the next Juke crossover.

The spotted model was heavily covered, but it shows a prototype is running with its definitive bodywork. The SUV will have Nissan’s new design philosophy and the character lines and design highlights will be inspired by the new X-Trail and Qashqai. The new gen Nissan Kicks will have an all-new styling, featuring a high waistline, plastic cladding on the flared wheel arches and a coupe-inspired rear profile.

The current gen Nissan Juke was launched in 2019 and is relatively new to receive a generation change. The new gen Nissan Kicks will be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Duster SUV. The SUV will also receive the E-Power hybrid variant, which is likely to offer better performance & fuel efficiency compared to the current model.

It will have a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery. The e-motor drives the wheels, while the combustion engine acts as a generator. The new-gen Kicks will also arrive in our market sometime in 2024-25. Moreover, Nissan is also developing a new 7-seater SUV for the Indian market.
