All-New Hyundai Custo MPV – What We Know So Far

Recently, the upcoming Hyundai Custo MPV has been caught on camera during its test rounds in China. Designed and developed for the Asian markets, the three-row MPV will have its world premiere in October 2020. As of now, there is no clarity whether it will come to India or not. Though, the South Korean carmaker had confirmed that it’s conducting a feasibility study of the MPV segment in the country.

The price bracket and category of the upcoming new Hyundai MPV wasn’t revealed by the company. If reports are to be believed, the new Hyundai MPV might be positioned against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo.

Talking about the China-spec Hyundai Custo, the premium MPV carries a large cascading grille and split headlamps as we have seen in the Venue subcompact SUV. The black side skirts and black trim on the lower portion of the doors enhance its side profile. You can notice the sliver trim on the door handles and sharp running lines along the pronounced wheel arches and doors.  The rear profile has been adored by tinted taillamps, LED light bar and small spoiler stretching off from the roof. The latest spy pictures confirm that the Hyundai Custo interior will share resemblance with the new Hyundai Sonata. Features such as four-spoke steering wheel and gear selector buttons are carried over from its SUV sibling.

There is a large portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system that’s likely to support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has rear sliding doors with door handles positioned near the B-pillars. The new Hyundai MPV also offers a configurable colour TFT instrument console.

In China, the Hyundai Custo is reported to be offered with a single 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The motor will deliver a peak power of 237bhp and 353Nm of torque.
