After Altroz DCT, 4 New Tata Cars Ready For Launch

Tata Motors recently rolled out the Altroz DCT automatic variants in the country. Available in 7 variants (including 2 Dark Editions), the Tata Altroz DCT has been priced between Rs 8.10 lakh – Rs 9.90 lakh (all, ex-showroom). While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed what’s next in the pipeline, it has scheduled four new models for this year. The plan outlines the Harrier and Safari petrol, updated Nexon EV and Altroz EV. Here’re key details of the upcoming new Tata models.

The home-grown automaker will give a mid-life update to its top-selling electric car – Tata Nexon EV. This time around, the model will be offered with the bigger 40kWh battery pack delivering range of over 400km on a full charge. One must note that the official details of the 2022 Tata Nexon EV are yet to be revealed. A few changes are also expected to be made to its boot space for accommodating larger battery pack. The electric SUV might also get selectable re-generation modes and electronic stability program (ESP). The new Nexon EV will also witness some significant cosmetic upgrades.

Tata Harrier, Safari Petrol

The company has been testing the petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs for a while. Both models are likely to come with the new 1.5L or 1.6L turbocharged DI (direct-injection) engine paired to an automatic gearbox. The SUVs might also receive paddle shifters and multi drive modes. The automaker is also reported to introduce a few new features including a 360 degree camera, wireless charging system and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

If reports are to be believed, the Tata Altroz EV might hit showrooms towards the end of 2022. For power, the electric hatchback will use the brand’s updated Ziptron electric powertrain that will debut on the new Nexon EV. Its battery capacity, power figures and range could be different from the facelifted Nexon EV. More details are likely to be revealed in coming months.
