Tata Motors will soon give an update to its top-selling electric SUV – Nexon EV. The new model, which is currently in testing phase, will receive minimal cosmetic and feature upgrades. One of the biggest changes will come in the form of the larger 40kWh battery pack that’s reported to deliver a range of over 400km on a single charge. In real-world condition, it will be around 300-320km. At present, the electric SUV comes with the 30.2kWh battery pack offering an ARAI-certified range of 312km.
In order to accommodate the bigger battery pack, the automaker will make some changes to its floor pan that will reduce its boot space. The new 2022 Tata Nexon EV might also be equipped with selectable re-generation modes for improving its range. The updated model is likely to come with the electronic stability program (ESP).
As mentioned above, a few cosmetic changes will be made to the vehicle. The new Tata Nexon EV 2022 could be assembled with newly-designed 16-inch dual-tone diamond cut alloy wheels. The electric SUV will continue to offer a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, auto climate control, cornering stability control, multiple airbags, Isofix child seat anchors and ABS with EBD.
The long-range 2022 Tata Nexon EV will be sold alongside the existing model. The new model is likely to witness a price hike of around Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh. Currently, the electric SUV comes within the price range of Rs 14.29 lakh – Rs 16.90 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
Talking about Tata’s future plan, the company is planning to expand its electric portfolio in coming years. Besides this, the home-grown automaker will update its existing product lineup and introduce CNG variants of its popular vehicles including Nexon.
