1. Radar system
The latest spy pictures reveal that Mahindra is testing the new XUV500 for several advanced electronic features including the radar system. It detects the range and speed of objects in the surround area of the vehicle.
2. 3D panoramic vision for driver
The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 might also come with the 3D panoramic vision system that eliminates the blind sport and informs the driver of approaching vehicles. It uses three cameras and a laser sensor.
3. Eyelid tracking mechanism
The eyelid tracking mechanism could be one of the most advanced features to be offered with the new-generation XUV500. The system detects the driver’s face and eyes via an advanced algorithm and fives an alert to driver (if there is any distraction, fatigue, drowsiness detected) as an assistance system.
4. Autonomous parking system
With the generation change, Mahindra’s SUV might receive autonomous parking system that helps park the vehicle in tight parking spots. It can perform parallel, perpendicular or angle parking.
5. Advanced Driver Assistance System
The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 is reported to come with the Level 1 autonomous technology. If it happens, it will be the first model in its segment to offer this feature. It will also become the most affordable SUV to come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The technology includes features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, drowsiness detection, lane-keep assist and blindspot detection.
6. Mercedes-Like Touchscreen
The spy pictures confirm that the new Mahindra XUV500 will be equipped with a new single-piece touchscreen display as we have seen in Mercedes-Benz cars. 7. Powerful Petrol/Diesel Engines
The biggest change will be made under the hood of the new-generation Mahindra XUV500. The SUV will come with the new 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol (190bhp) and 2.2L mHawk diesel (180bhp) engine options. The upcoming Tata Gravitas will come with a single 2.0L turbocharged diesel motor that’s good for 168bhp.
