Mahindra’s New Logo to Debut With 2021 XUV500

Mahindra & Mahindra will debut its new brand logo early next year. According to a fresh media report, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will be the first model to feature the brand’s new emblem. As of now, there is no information what the new badge will look like. The existing Mahindra logo has oval shape structure with three chrome strips narrowing in the centre forming ‘M’ letter. For people not in the know, the current signature badge was first showcased on the Mahindra Scorpio SUV back in 2002.

Besides the brand’s new logo, the new-generation Mahindra XUV500 will also mark debut of the brand’s most powerful petrol engine. The SUV will receive a new 2.0L turbo mStallion gasoline motor that will be tuned for generating power worth 190bhp and 380Nm of torque. The existing 2.2L turbo diesel engine will also be updated for producing slightly higher power (around 180bhp). There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic sourced from Aisin.

New-gen Mahindra XUV500 Changes

The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will witness comprehensive changes in terms of design and features. The spy pictures reveal that the SUV will come with dual-tone interior featuring Mercedes-Benz inspired single-piece wide touchscreen that will work as an infotainment unit and an instrument panel. The new XUV500 will also be the first model in its segment to offer Level 1 autonomous technology – ASAD (Advanced Driver Assistance System). It includes features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, drowsiness detection, lane-keep assist and blindspot detection.

After the new XUV500, the home-grown carmaker will bring in the next-generation Mahindra Scorpio. Significant changes will be made to its exterior, interior and engine mechanism. The company has also planned a range of new vehicles for 2021 that includes the eKUV100, TUV300 and TUV300 Plus  facelift, Altroz EV, eXUV300 and XUV300 Sportz.
