5 Top-Selling MPVs In July – Ertiga Leads The Chart

Sales figures of the July 2020 have been quite encouraging for the Indian automobile industry. Car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, MG, Renault and Tata Motors recorded decent growth compared to the same month previous year. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – 8,504

Key Observations:

  • Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was India’s highest selling MPV in the month of July. The carmaker managed sell 8,504 units of the Ertiga as opposed to 9,222 units of July, 2019.   • Renault Triber stood at the second position with a total sales of 3,076 units. The MPV comes with a 1.3L naturally-aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 71bhp and 96Nm. It can be had either with a manual or an AMT gearbox. While the manual variants are priced from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 6.89 lakh, the automatic models cost between Rs 6.18 lakh – Rs 7.22 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
  • The third sport was grabbed by the Toyota Innova Crysta that registered a total sales of 2,927 units. Compared to the previous year, the MPV witnessed sales decline of 40%.  The Japanese carmaker is ready to give a mid-life update to the Innova Crysta in coming months.
  • The Maruti Suzuki XL6 clocked a total sales of 1,874 units in the month of July. The combined sales of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Ertiga stood at 10,378 units.
  • Kia’s premium MPV Carnival gathered decent volume for the company. Last month, the carmaker managed to retail 232 units of the Carnival.
