4 New Sub-4 Meter SUVs Launching By March 2023 – Sonet X-Line

Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai had introduced the updated versions of the Brezza and the Venue compact SUVs earlier this year. The rising demand for SUVs have prompted automakers to launch new models in the sub-4 meter SUV category. Honda has also announced to launch a new compact SUV in the country in 2023. Here’s a list of top 4 sub-4 meter SUVs to be launched in the country in the next 6 months, by March 2023.

1. Hyundai Venue N-Line

Hyundai has announced to launch the new Venue N Line SUV in the country on September 6, 2022. Interested buyers can book the new SUV online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. The sportier version gets a dark chrome grille with N Line emblem, red highlights on the bumper, fender, side sills and roof rails, and new diamond-cut R16 alloys with N branding. It has sportier tailgate spoiler, N Line badge on the tailgate, and red brake caliper.

The sportier theme is also offered inside the cabin. It gets all-black interior with red inserts on gear knob, centre console and dashboard. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a DCT automatic gearbox.

2. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

Mahindra will launch the updated version of the XUV300 during festive season, before Diwali. The SUV will come with subtle design changes and new engine option. The SUV will come with the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol T-GDI mStallion engine that produces 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. This will be 20bhp more powerful and 30Nm torqueier than the existing 1.2L petrol engine. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT.

In terms of styling, the new Mahindra XUV300 will have a rectangular front grille with chrome inserts, new Mahindra twin peaks logo, triple-pod headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, and a new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the updated model is likely to get new upholstery along with new features.

3. Maruti YTB Baleno SUV Cross

Maruti Suzuki is preparing a new SUV Cross, codenamed YTB, that is scheduled to be unveiled at Auto Expo 2023. It is reportedly to be launched by February 2023. The new model will be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno. It will come with sloping roofline and a raked windshield, and Grand Vitara-inspired front design. The SUV Cross will also share the interior with the Baleno. It will get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, heads-up display, connected car tech, automatic AC, 360 degree camera, etc.

The SUV Cross will be powered by Suzuki’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a mild hybrid technology. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. It could also receive a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol or a 1.5-litre Dualjet with mild hybrid system.

4. Honda Compact SUV

Honda is developing an all-new compact SUV, which is reportedly to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model will be based on Amaze platform and the production of the SUV is expected to be commenced in August 2023. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Brezza, HYundai Venue and the Tata Nexon. The new Honda compact SUV is likely to be offered with multiple engine options. The SUV is expected to come with the in-house developed 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that powers the Amaze, City and the Jazz/WR-V. The petrol version could get a 1.2L NA petrol or a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engines.
