5 New Maruti Suzuki Petrol Cars By 2031 – SUVs, MPVs and More!

Maruti 7-seater SUV MPV

Maruti Suzuki, with a bold vision for the Indian automotive market, is set to implement an aggressive product strategy. In a recent interview, R.C Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, confirmed the company’s ambitious plan to augment its product lineup by introducing five new Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models by the year 2031. While specific product names and details were not disclosed during the interview, industry enthusiasts can anticipate the inclusion of utility vehicles (UVs), possibly featuring a three-row SUV.

What to Expect?

Note: It’s crucial to note that these speculations and expected products remain unconfirmed by the automaker.

Widespread speculation suggests that Maruti Suzuki is actively developing a 7-seater SUV, possibly based on the Grand Vitara platform. This model is expected to share its foundation, design elements, and features with its donor sibling, albeit with increased dimensions, providing a more capacious interior. There are indications that the powertrain might be sourced from the Grand Vitara, offering consumers the choice of the familiar 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid or the 1.5L Atkinson cycle options, delivering 103bhp and 115bhp, respectively.

Maruti Invicto design

To accommodate the production demands of the new three-row SUV, Maruti Suzuki has designated its recently established Kharkhoda facility as the production hub. Upon its launch, the 7-seater SUV will enter a competitive market, challenging vehicles such as the Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.

Rumors are circulating that Maruti Suzuki may also introduce an affordable MPV to compete with the Kia Carens, priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The company’s broader plan includes potential launches of hatchbacks and a micro SUV, possibly as successors to the Celerio and Alto, aiming to rival the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch, respectively.

In other noteworthy developments, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to unveil three new models in 2024, including the next-generation Swift and Dzire, along with an eVX concept-based electric SUV. The eagerly awaited Swift and Dzire models are slated for an early release next year, while the electric SUV, based on the eVX concept, is expected to hit the roads by October or November 2024.

As more information on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki vehicles unfolds, enthusiasts can anticipate further details in the near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews for the latest updates.
