Hyundai Exter Prices Increased By Up to Rs 16,000

The Hyundai Exter micro SUV, which was launched in July 2023, has been performing well in terms of sales for the South Korean automaker. In the past three months, Hyundai has sold over 23,000 units of the Exter, with 7,000 units sold in July, 7,430 units in August, and 8,647 units in September. The Exter was initially introduced with introductory prices ranging from Rs 6 lakh for the base EX variant to Rs 10 lakh for the top-end SX (O) Connect variant.

Now, the Exter has received its first price hike, with increases of up to Rs 16,000. It’s important to note that the prices of the EX manual and SX (O) Connect AMT variants remain unchanged. The SX (O) Connect MT and AMT dual-tone variants have seen a price increase of Rs 5,000, while the prices of the remaining variants have gone up by up to Rs 10,400.

Hyundai Motor India has also recently made 6 airbags a standard feature across its entire model lineup, emphasizing its commitment to safety. The company has plans to introduce more active safety features such as BlueLink and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to all its models by 2025. This expansion of safety features will likely include blind spot detection, front parking sensors, surround view monitors, and electronic parking brakes. Currently, Hyundai cars are available with rear cameras and tire pressure monitoring systems, along with optional Isofix child seat anchorages. In terms of Hyundai’s future plans, the company is gearing up to give a major update to its top-selling Creta mid-size SUV in early 2024. The facelifted version of the Creta will feature a new 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine, as well as advanced features like ADAS technology and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, the second best-selling Hyundai SUV, the Venue, will undergo a generational change in 2025. It will be the first model to be produced at Hyundai’s new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, where the company aims to produce around 1,50,000 units annually.
